About Sarah
Hello! I bring over 15 years of experience teaching writing, with a background that spans higher education, admissions, and one-on-one mentorship. Based in Belmont, MA, I’ve taught First-Year Writing at Boston College since 2012, tutor high school students and adults, and previously worked as an Admissions Officer at Brandeis University.
My work is grounded in close listening, curiosity, and respect for each person’s voice and lived experience. Whether you’re a high school student writing college essays, a graduate or doctoral student shaping a longer project, or someone seeking support to feel more confident and authentic on the page, I aim to create a thoughtful, collaborative space where your ideas can take shape.

Customized Lessons
For anyone looking to address their writing skills, I offer customized lessons informed by my 15+ years of teaching writing. I have materials focused on process issues (ie, brainstorming, outlining, drafting and revising) as well as style concerns (writing that flows, captures attention, is precise and vivid).
